Great location. One could go for a walk in the garden in the morning before opening. Very tasty hot breakfast. Very nice welcome, although we were very late.

We had a fantastic time at Larnach Lodge & Stable Stay. The room we stayed in was spacious, clean, and had a stunning view of the water. The full facilities in the room were a great convenience. The cost was very reasonable, making it excellent value for the money.

The breakfast was the best in New Zealand during our tour. Very obliging man at reception. Although the room had no view at all, the style of the old horse stable was more than compensatory. Great location, the garden is a must for botanists, good starting point to explore the island.

We had a very pleasant stay, starting with a nice reception and a nice room with a view of the bay. The breakfast is freshly prepared. The dinner is highly recommended, the food was excellent. One should definitely take enough time to visit the castle and the castle park.

The location in the castle park and the rich breakfast. Very friendly reception at the entrance gate to the park
I didn't realize that the rooms were in the stable building and not in the castle. I didn't like the idea of them being shared facilities either. So shared shower and toilet.

It was not just a stay but an entire experience from the time you arrive at the front gate until the minute you leave. I cannot fault it in any way and would encourage anyone who is going to the area to do yourself a favour and book in

The staff were, to a person, pleasant and helpful; the setting is amazing; the room was very clean and comfortable; and, the breakfast was yummy! Our stay was a complete treat... one night was not enough.

I had a fabulous experience during my stay at the lodge at Larnach Castle. The dinner at the castle was served "house party" style, and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. The staff provided short history lessons between courses, making the dinner even more special. Breakfast, specially cooked for each guest, was also included and lived up to expectations. The staff at the lodge were genuinely friendly and made me feel welcome throughout my stay. The views and grounds were breathtaking, adding to the overall exceptional experience. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area. I will definitely recommend this hotel.

Fabulous location with great views. Fascinating room......bed created from an old wagon. Well appointed bathroom with large bath though the shower could have been more powerful. Great experience eating dinner in the castle but though the menu was good the execution was disappointing.
